MEMON CONVENTION & 37th Annual General Meeting of “All India Memon Jamat Federation” (AIMJF) was held on Sunday, 28th April, 2019 at 10.45 am in Mohammed Hussain Gandhi Hall, Juhapura, Ahmedabad. Meeting was sponsored by Mr Sharif Memon (VP – AIMJF) & Halai Memon Moti Jamat, Ahmedabad. Meeting was attended by 800 (approx) members, including prominent members of community + Office Bearers, Board Members, Zonal Secretaries, NEC Members and

Jamat Heads of AIMJF member Jamats from Mumbai, North Gujrat, Saurashtra, Central Gujrat, South Gujrat, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu etc.

Inauguration of Annual/audit Report

• Inauguration of Annual/audit report of All India Memon Jamat Federation in AGM held in Ahmedabad 28.04.19

Mr Iqbal Memon Officer (President – AIMJF) presided over the meeting. Meeting was commenced with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Hafiz Moin , Thereafter Memon Anthem & Memon Times Anthem were played followed by Sadqa. Mr. Sharif Memon delivered the Welcome address and greeted all the members present.

As per Agenda Items Mr. Aziz Machchiwala (Hon. Gen Secretary) presented the minutes of last AGM and Audited Statement of Accounts for the year 2018/19 which was unanimously approved by the members present.

Mr Shafi Rogatiya proposed the name of M/s Dalal & Dalal (Chartered Accountant) as auditor of All India Memon Jamat Federation for the year 2019/20 and Mr Shakil Tikki seconded and all the members present unanimously approved the same.

• Following 4 New Jamats were approved as a member Jamat of AIMJF.

Thereafter following Resolutions were presented, approved and accepted by the members present
• RESOLUTION :- JAMAT MEMBERSHIP FEES Rs.3,000/- pa

Mr Ilyas Bha Kapadia stated that the activities of AIMJF is expanding day by day and office is functioning @ full fledge basis Hence to meet administration expenses, Yearly Jamat membership of AIMJF should be increased to Rs.5,000/- from existing Rs.1,000/-

Mr Iqbal Memon Officer suggested to increase the same to Rs.3,000/- pa as Rs.5,000/- will be high to support the administrative expenses of AIMJF and the following Resolution was motioned by her accordingly.

• RESOLVED

that to increase the yearly membership Fees of Jamat from Rs.1,000/- pa to Rs.3,000/- pa so as to support the administrative expenses of AIMJF.

Thereafter the Zakat & Donation Appeal with Photos of Housing Structure was launched by the hands of respected foreign delegates i.e. Mr Farouk Alimohammed (UK) and Mr Suhel Millawala (USA) & All the Board Members of AIMJF and distributed to all the members present.

Mr Iqbal Memon Officer presented the detailed following report of activities of AIMJF for the year 2018/19 via Documentary Film including present status of our community living in dilapidated houses, Women Empowerment, Health Issues etc

He further thanked all the Office Bearers / Board Members / Zonal Secretaries / NEC Members and Donors for their various selfless efforts to achieve above activities for the misfortune strata of our community at large.

Members present appreciated the Report & Documentary presented by Mr Iqbal Memon Officer and assured their support through standing ovation

Mr Iqbal Memon Officer stated that our community is a peace loving community and we try our best to help and assist the people or at least refrain that no one should be harmed by ourself.

• ELECTION COMMISSIONER

Election Commissioner Mr Suhail Khandwani informed that the last date for filling nomination for the post of President of AIMJF for the term 2019/20 to 2022/23 was 12/04/2019 till 6pm

Mr Iqbal Memon Officer filed his nomination on 11/04/2019 except which NO nomination was received.

• Hence I HEREBY DECLARE MR IQBAL MEMON OFFICER AS THE PRESIDENT OF ALL INDIA MEMON JAMAT FEDERATION FOR THE TERM 2019/20 TO 2022/23

People of community congratulated MR IQBAL MEMON OFFICER by standing ovation and a huge crowd was gathered at the stage to felicitate him with Shawl

• SECOND SESSION

Second session commenced with MEMON ANTHEM and Short Speech by baby Sidra Naim Nagani

Mr Iqbal Memon Officer thanked all for their kind faith, cooperation and support extended to him always due to which charitable activities to the tune of Rs.24 Crores were able to distributed during the tenure of 4 years.

He further said that InshaAllah, major social work will be carried out for the upliftment and betterment of poor, deserving strata of community.

• Mr Iqbal Memon Officer welcomed and greeted MAYOR of Ahmedabad City Smt Bijalben Patel and stated that the power was cut since last 30 minutes but as soon as Bijalben arrived Bijli also arrived which shows how lucky and kind she is and it is our proud , privilege that she is present in our today’s meeting.

Thereafter, Hon’ble Mayor Smt Bijalben Patel felicitated the following dignified personalities of our community with Outstanding Achievement Award for their Socio, Economic diversified field.

• Jamats who celebrated WORLD MEMON DAY were also awarded certificates by the hands of Honble Mayor Smt Bijalben Patel and foreign dignitaties.
• Smt Bijalben Patel appreciated the activities of AIMJF under the able leadership of Mr Iqbal Memon Officer.
